‘FOR THE LOVE OF PETS’
Sydney, New South Wales – Context Media is delighted to announce Australia’s own and one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors, Jai Courtney as Narrator of FOR THE LOVE OF PETS.
The 8-part series follows the heart-warming stories of the staff, volunteers and animals that come through the doors of the Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc. (AWL) and Vets4Pets Emergency Hospital in Adelaide.
Most recently seen in Prime Video’s action thriller series “The Terminal List” alongside Chris Pratt and upcoming, Jai stars in the Netflix series “Jigsaw,” a heist action drama from Ridley Scott, FOR THE LOVE OF PETS is a quite a change of pace and genre for the action star. But it was Jai’s own love for animals that drew him to give voice to this series that will follow a cast of colourful characters who devote their lives to the animals in their care.
Commenting on the series, Jai Courtney said, “FOR THE LOVE OF PETS is a fascinating look into the lives of some very special people and the endless amount of love and dedication they pour into their crusade to get thousands of helpless animals the love and care they deserve every year. We get an understanding of just how much work goes into running these facilities and charitable organizations, the resources they require and the kinds of people it takes to uphold the level of care it demands. Some of the animals we meet need lifesaving surgeries, some just a loving home. But it’s a dramatic day to day operation, sometimes heartbreaking but often full of joy and fulfillment.”

Commissioned for the 9Network Australia, filmed in 4K and now with Jai aboard as Narrator, the series is set for a strong launch internationally, with Escapade Media handling distribution.

ADELAIDE PETS SET TO SHINE AS CAMERAS ROLL ON
NINE NETWORK SERIES ‘FOR THE LOVE OF PETS’
Adelaide, South Australia – Context Media is pleased to announce the commencement of principal photography this week on FOR THE LOVE OF PETS, an eight-part docuseries following the heart-warming stories of the staff, volunteers and animals at The Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc. (AWL).
A not-for-profit organisation built on the philosophies of providing love, care and compassion to every animal that comes through its doors, AWL is passionate about providing the highest quality of care to pets in need.
Shot in stunning 4K, the series will follow a cast of colourful characters within AWL who devote their lives to the animals in their care, from vets performing life changing surgeries to the re-homing team working tirelessly to care for and re-home more than 4,000 pets per year, or the compassionate team who manage the pet memorial and cremation services, helping families say their final goodbyes.
The series has been commissioned by Nine Network with Omnicom Media Group’s subsidiary, OMnet Australia providing production financing. Created by and executive produced by Context Media’s Peter Jenetsky and Tim Clucas, alongside series producer Kym Slaby. Escapade Media will handle international distribution and sales, with the show already pre-sold to New Zealand network TVNZ.

The Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc is on board as a key production partner, with the series being filmed on location at, and with the assistance of the organisation.
